This exam consists of eight parts. The first 7 parts will be graded using SCANTRON and the last part is to be done on the examination paper. For the SCANTRON parts the answers are to be recorded on a separate examination answer sheet that will be provided with this exam. To ensure that you will receive credit for this exam, please fill in your name and student number above and circle all the answers on this paper as well as recording them on the examination answer sheet in case of scanning problems. No mark will be given unless both the examination answer sheet and this examination question sheet are returned.

In order to fill in the answer sheet properly, you should…

Above the heading, "Scantron General Purpose Answer Sheet", are a number of information fields which are described below. Write a letter or number at the top of the column and fill in the corresponding bubble below with your HB pencil. If there are more columns than you need, start at the left column and leave the extra columns at the right blank.
  1. FIRST NAME and LAST NAME: fill in the boxes and bubbles accordingly.
  2. S : PUT your course section letter (not your middle initial) in the box and bubbles.
  3. COURSE NO: Put the department number and course number in this field. (no spaces) e.g. 95104.
  4. DATE OF EXAM: fill in the date of the exam (not your birth date) in the box and bubbles.
  5. STUDENT NUMBER : put your student number in the box and bubbles starting at the left. Do not fill in extra spaces with zeros.
  6. SEX: leave blank
  7. EXAM VERSION NO: leave blank.

Note: It is vitally important that you fill in the STUDENT NUMBER box properly as this is the field that is used to identify you.

Below the heading, "Scantron General Purpose Answer Sheet", you will find 250 fields where you mark your answers to the corresponding questions on your examination sheet. The multiple choice part of the test consists of 66 questions so you will only use the first 66 fields. Fill in the bubble representing the correct answer to each question, A, B, C, D or E. Fill in only one alternative for each question. Erase with care as smudges can confuse the scanner and this will affect your grade. Be careful not to skip answer spaces or questions as your answers will then not match the key. If you have filled in more (or fewer) items on your answer sheet than the number of questions on your examination sheets, you have made an error. Find it and correct it.

Each question in the first eight parts; namely, the multiple choice parts of this exam is worth 1 mark. There are 71 multiple choice questions for a total of 71 marks. Part 8 is worth 9 marks. The total is 80 marks. You have 3 hours to complete the exam.
