COMP 2401/2001 - Linux Environment

Starting the Virtual Machine (VM)

• Login to a lab computer
• Launch VirtualBox
  • From the start menu, search for "VirtualBox"
  • Launch the VirtualBox executable found in the Programs folder
• Launch the VM
  • Select the VM for COMP 2401
  • Double-click on the VM or click on the green arrow button
  • The Linux Ubuntu environment will start up

Logging in to the VM

• Log in to Linux with the username and password indicated in class

Saving your work

• From Linux, copy your work to your directory on the Z: drive
• From Linux, copy your work to a USB memory stick
