1. STUDY
-
Read and understand
the paper(s).
-
Ask yourself:
-
what is the problem?
(why is it important?)
-
what are the assumptions?
what is known?
-
what is the solution/what
are the results?
-
Find out:
-
how they reach the
solution/prove the lower-bound?
-
what techniques
they use?
2. WRITE
-
Write your report
as if explaining the assigned paper(s) to our class.
-
Use the language,
terminology and symbols used in the lectures.
-
Be precise yet descriptive.
3. PERSONALIZE
Include your comments on the paper, open problems, unanswered
questions, etc...
4. STYLE
Concentrate on the content. There is no need to be (Latex or HTML)-fancy.
5. REMEMBER
IF
YOU USE SOMEBODY ELSE'S WORDS, YOU MUST PUT THEM IN QUOTES AND GIVE A FULL
ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF THE SOURCE.
Failure to do so constitutes
PLAGIARISM, which is an academic fellony, to be
reported to the student's academic unit.
SIMPLE PARAPHRASING IS STILL
CONSIDERED PLAGIARISM.
