Anil Somayaji's Home Page

Hello! I am an associate professor in the School of Computer Science at Carleton University, in Ottawa, Canada. I am also Associate Director of the Carleton Computer Security Lab.

In Winter 2011 I am teaching COMP 1501 (Introduction to Computer Game Design) and a graduate seminar, Biological Approaches to Computer Security. I last taught the latter back in Winter 2005.

I am broadly interested in the areas of computer security, operating systems, artificial life, and complex adaptive systems. For more information on my research, please refer to these pages:

After all, I am always looking for students who are passionate about ideas and research, are interested in computer security and/or complex adaptive systems, and are willing to work hard exploring "crazy" ideas. But given my finite supply of time and money, though, don't be surprised when I say no. My apologies in advance.
