I did my Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering, from the
Indian Institute of
in June 1975. I won the Kaloori Medal in 1974
and the Siemens Medal for the Best Graduating Student

In 1975, I moved to Bangalore to the Indian Institute of Science to pursue the Master of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering. I received this degree in 1977 and was the Electrical Engineering Gold Medal winner for being the Best Graduating Student of the year. During this time I worked with Professor M.A.L. Thathachar.
From there, I went to Purdue University to complete the Master of Science (1979), and Doctor of Philosophy degrees (1982), both in the Department of Electrical Engineering. My supervisor at Purdue was Professor Rangasami L. Kashyap.
