CARLETON UNIVERSITY

WOMEN IN SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING

Inspire. Be Inspired. Leave a Legacy.

CU-WISE was re-established in 2007 and is Carleton University's official WiSE chapter. WiSE (Women in Science and Engineering) is a global movement that encourages women in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. This includes motivating young ladies to pursue STEM fields, as well as supporting the women currently in STEM fields.

OUR BACKGROUND

Get to know CU-WISE

Here at CU-WISE, we have three main goals we focus on. The first is encouraging younger generations to learn about STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) fields through outreach programs and activities for groups of all ages.

The second is inspiring our members with programs like mentorships, seminars, workshops, study groups, networking events, and more. This helps the students get the most out of their university years as well as starts the process of determining what their future might be.

Our third focus is supporting our members with various social programs meant to help achieve a healthier and less stressful lifestyle as they complete their time here at Carleton. This includes events such as social meet and greets, movie nights, destress stretching, self-defense courses, skating parties, and more.
