    - Load Distribution and Balancing

Led by Prof. Yiqiang Q. Zhao.

The ultimate objective in this research is to develop both load routing algorithms and load balancing mechanisms for stochastic networks including SON. The immediate focus will be given to the study of load balancing. In a stochastic network, which consists of a large number of network nodes, load balancing is often used to improve the system performance by shortening the queue length, reducing the waiting time, and increasing the system throughput. In a wireless sensor network, load balancing is crucial for its lifetime.
